One of Nepal’s leading training providers, which specialises in offering soft skills, hospitality and management skills training to candidates across the country, has been honoured at this year’s Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) Star Awards.

LCCI Global Qualifications Pvt Ltd was awarded with the Highly Commended Centre of the Year (International Centre Category) at the 2018 Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) Star Awards, in a spectacular ceremony which were held in Glasgow, Scotland on Friday 9 November.

The judging panel were impressed with how LCCI works towards helping thousands of Nepalese people with its internationally recognised training programmes.

In the short time it has been working with SQA, LCCI has developed seven customised awards, which are targeted towards upskilling local learners. The centre has been consistent both in terms of meeting targeted numbers and extremely impressive outcomes during quality verifications conducted by SQA.

LCCI GQ were competing for the title against two other SQA international centres; from China and Sri Lanka.

Speaking about the winners and highly commended finalists, SQA Chief Executive, Dr Janet Brown, said: “Every year I am amazed by the stories of achievement, ingenuity, and accomplishment of our Star Awards winners. Every one of them, and all the highly commended finalists, fully deserve the recognition that they have received here tonight.”

Scotland’s Deputy First Minister John Swinney said: “These awards are a great opportunity to recognise the hard work and success of our young people across Scotland and the education and training providers who support them. I would like to congratulate all of the winners and finalists on their fantastic achievements and wish them every success for the future.”

The SQA Star Awards were hosted by BBC TV and radio presenter Kaye Adams and were supported by a number of sponsors; including the General Teaching Council for Scotland, Skills Development Scotland, and the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework Partnership.
